​Turbo Graffix opened its first retail location on March 4th, 2005. Turbo was opened at the Animas Valley Mall in Farmington, NM by Greg and Kathy Ruybalid - with $5500, 2 credit cards, an embroidery machine, and a goal to better their lives financially. "Turbo has been a tremendous blessing to our family, and we are so proud of where our efforts have taken Turbo, and where Turbo has taken us," says Greg.

 

 

Opening in a 1200 sq. ft. location - which seemed huge at the time, and trying to buy enough inventory to fill it up and make it look attractive was a challenge! "The first 2 years were 60-70+ hour weeks with just 2-3 part time employees, including my dad, Kathy, and me," said Greg. The sweat equity and long hours really assisted Turbo in its success. "Many nights, after closing at the store, Kathy and I would be up until 2 or 3:00 in the morning, printing shirts, or getting uniforms and embroidery jobs finished. Then she'd head to school the next morning to teach her 5th graders, and I'd be back to the mall to do it all over again.
